The mouth, being the gateway to the digestive tract, is not only essential for consuming nourishment but also plays a fundamental role in effective communication. When the health of the mouth is compromised, it leaves individuals susceptible to a myriad of health issues, impacting their ability to eat, drink, and speak with ease. One particularly formidable threat is mouth cancer, a condition that instils a sense of unease, affecting three out of four individuals in middle-income countries. Cancer of the mouth is a nerve-racking condition that affects 3 out of 4 people living in middle-income countries.

Pancreatic cancer, also known as PC, is a very rare type of cancer that affects the exo-endocrine gland of the pancreas. Dubbed as the “silent killer,” the disease is notorious for it’s extremely poor prognosis because symptoms and indicators only appear later in the disease’s progression. When compared to Western countries, where males over the age of 50 have a significant risk of having the disease, the incidence of pancreatic cancer in India is quite low.

Esophageal cancer, the eighth most reported cancer globally, poses a significant health concern, particularly in the Northeast region of India, where the highest incidence is reported, contributing to its recognition as ‘Esophageal Cancer Belt.’ This geographical zone extends from Northeast China to the Middle East, where the prevalence of this type of cancer is notably high.
